Pete, it's just tradition. The fall tourney has always been a SoCo thing.
By the way, the only reason you guys won the spring is beacuse I didn't fish it...

Tradition is a decent reason I guess. It would be nice to fish local though. It's OK, beating other clubs in their home territory is even more fun...

Aquidneck Island is certainly a well documented case of "Islander Syndrome".
Newporters won't go "up-Island", Portsmouth gets upset about having to go South, and nobody likes to leave the Island.
Seriously though, that bridge will probably whack me for almost $20 this weekend. And if the weigh station is closed when it's supposed to be open again I'm going to have a legit reason to be irritated.
FYI, weigh in times:
The Bait Shop will be open Fri. 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Sat. 7:00 AM to 12: PM and Sun. 7:00 AM to weigh fish and accommodate one and all. Fresh coffee and snacks will be available to all participants courtesy of the shop.

Since some of us work Sat/Sun the hours from 6a-10a were designated sleep for me last year and I had to wait from 5-730a to weigh a fish.... oh well..
