A fellow member sent this to me, I guess he thought I was into machining for some reason. Some pretty incredible wormanship to say the least. I do not see enough machinery in his shop though to produce that kind of project. He must have another source I would think. Wow.

Yeah the guy drew up the prints, had a 12 cylinder block cast, then machined it. Also a crankshaft for a 12 cylinder, a cam for 24 valves. Oh yeah a workable transmission. You can imagine the engineering involved in that and 1/3 scale. And I call myself a machinist.

I was thinking about this last nite at work. The guy built a 12 cylinder engine and tranny from scratch and it works and 1/3 scale in his garage. Never mind all the other stuff involved, body, suspension, etc.. Incredible. Also smaller is more difficult too than full scale IMO.

That is some really nice work he did there.
I wonder if he ever thought to make a real one in full scale. If you are going to put that much work into a small one, why not a big one. I recently saw a 1920's Mercedes SSK someone was doing over and he didn't have much to work with. It's amazing what some of the restoration guys can do. Won't end up 100% but still cool. Cars are another hobby of mine.
