bingo! Fluoro sucks... too eoxpensive and does nothing better than mono... I don;t care what you've heard about abrasion or light reflective qualities... 60-80# mono for eel leaders... 40-50# for plugs... 1 spool lasts 3 seasons

Tie them on the spot usually. I found that if I tie them months ahead, I Don't much like them when I need them. Dunno why.

I have never had a reason to use Flouro, And I don't like standing on a rock 50 yrds in the surf tying knots. Pull out a leader and tie it on
If you use a spinning reel a swivel is a must have.

Amen. Never found there to be a decided advantage to Flouro. I've always used 50# mono and I've caught a couple of bass...
