Being mostly an AM guy.......

When I start has a lot to do with both the tide (especially on the Ma South Shore with the large tide height swings, Rhody it's not as critical), and the time of year.

This time of year, we have dawn at about 6-6:30, with sunrise about 7......until Sunday, anyway, when it'll move back an hour. In the middle of June, your talking a whole different ball game, with dawn as early as 3:30-4AM.....

I like to have about 1 - 1 1/2 hours of relative darkness, thru the sun up, and then about an hour or two after that. Unless it is cloudy, then I can go longer.

Always have my best luck just about sunrise, or shortly before or after......

But most guys will say DARKNESS............
