Hi Raven
I think Raiders is the brand of a lure.
I had to retire from farming but it was wheat mainly but at one time we grew quite a lot of canola.
Its getting late here 11.44 pm but if you want I'll post some pic's of the farm and gear.
I will have to make sure you have a general area to post that in.

What is the fish your wife is holding? Looks similar to our weakfish.

welcome wafarmer
Thanks for the great pics. An exchange would work very well. Our season difference would be perfect. Australia looks like a great place to visit/fish...fish... The salmonidae looking fish appear to be similar to our squeteague/weakfish/sea trout.
The casting reels pictured are very different from what we use. I would imagine that they have huge line capacity, (500-700 yards of 20# mono???). 14ft rod w/a large capacity Alvey type reel must cast a country mile.
Looking forward to your future posts.

Hi parker23 and all
Yes we use alvey 650c5 and 700 c5 they hold 500yards + of 25lb line and 14 - 15 ft 7 to 9 wrap rods.
Also up to 80lb braid on the cliffs.
We need them to cast long distances and also for whinching up cliffs.
I maybe off to steep point on tuesday with my brother and cousin we are hoping to take some jetskis to troll for tuna and mackerel just inside of steep point if the weather is good.
One of the guys asked about farming so with your indulgence I will add a few pics of the gear

great machines
Now that's a lawn mower. I will never look at my little John Deere the same way. Big machines, 15 ft rods, casting reels w/600 yards capacity, trolling for tuna on a JetSki... I am begining to feel inadequate. Have a great day of fishing!

HI justplugit
Harvest in the central/eastern wheatbelt starts with canola swathing in early/mid October and wheat in late November early December.
Yes we use the combine with a pickup front to pick up the swaths or the shorter varieties we direct harvest.
