We have a 21 SeaHunt that came with a 2001 150HP Johnson 6-carb motor. It was alright but after a few years we got an offer we couldn't refuse on a 03 'Rude 225 F.I. which ran well until it blew up. It was under warranty so they rebuilt it and it ran fine. A bit of overkill, though, as we rarely were able to use all those ponies. But when we could it really stood up. Just traded that for a 07 175 E-Tech. Should be plenty of juice but we'll have to see what happens.

Catch'em up,

I have a Sea Hunt 172 with a 90 Yama. My GPS says 37knots at 4500 RPMs.

The Sea Hunt hull is amazing! I had this boat (with #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&) in 4 to 6ft seas and a 40 knot wind out of the NE. We stayed dry all the way from Quonset to Warwick Cove. I had to throttle back some but I have been all over, all the way to Beavertail, Anawan, Narrow River, Newport and never felt in harms way. Heavy boat for it's size. At 17' 2" with a full tank of gas and the T Top it weighs right around 2000#.

I plan on moving up to a 20 or 21 when I have saved enough to buy it cash.

No boat, back in the suds.
