1680....wasn't that when John Smith wrote about the rivers being so full of bass you could walk on them? Salmon, codfish, halibut, swordfish, tuna, salters...all untouched....boggles the mind.

First that came to mind was the night Tony S got his 73, I'd like to have been on that beach that night bailing 40 pounders and bigger.
But I am with Bob Thomas I think, the day on the canal a year and a half ago , I think it was a Wed., I missed it by one day. I would have loved to have been there that day instead of working in my shop and feeling like I was missing something.
Back in 1620 sounds good too

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!
It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

Late 50's/early 60's......running the backside beaches in a 1948 Woody wagon with the likes of Frank Woolner, Arnold Laine, Ralph Gray, Stan Gibbs, Charlie Murat.......the list goes on and on!
Oh.....and I would have to have a supply of my plugs from today! (Picture me in a black and White photo standing by my buggy yet the plugs in the photo are in color?) Play Twilight Zone theme song!

I'd set the time machine for October 12, 1981 and beam myself and my truck to South Beach on the Vineyard, down towards Tisbury Great Pond.
Then'd I set it for the following week and aim myself at Pochet.

My uncle Paul fished with Stab Gibbs quite a bit back then!
He was up for a wake & funeral a few months ago, he shared some great stories with me!

At least 200 years ago ... but must be on a day when the action is super hot, stripers going crazy and large ... and there are no hostiles of any sort in the area to cause trouble ... as I want to jettison in and out at will with my big fish, just enough so no one sees me.
I'd also go back to the Florida keys at least a 100 years or so with a flats skiff and guide on a high sun, southeast breeze at 5 mph, low mosquitos and lots of tarpon, permit and bonefish to nail on fly ... bring back some permit for my buddy to make permit ceviche ... it's awesome ...
