Yup... funny some of the reels are fine from the factory. Others are way off. I got a bag full of washers in the parts box... so I can get all my reels timed. It is important on both bail and bail-less. Bail will snap shut or line will catch on the roller during the cast.

My 704 is definitely not "timed" right.Will have to experiment as I have loads of washers also.

My only gripe with it has been cranking the handle over and over again till the handle was pointing back,the spool was fully extended and the roller was in its proper position.

The proper sized washer and voila!Who woulda thought?Not me. Guess I ain't no engineer!
