The slower it gets, the better each fish feels.

Talking

The first thing I did (tonight)was dig a four foot hole under my deck put a 55 gallon eel live well in,I've been putting this for too long!

I was also thinking about putting in a huge new fire pit with a 8' aprin around it and run a coax cable & electric to it for future use, like when football starts I can watch games by the fire & booze it up with

Other than that there's some other little stuff around the house I wanna do but that's on the back burnner.

I think we'll do a couple of camping trips in Maine & N.H.

when it gets slow you just have to keep at it - how else are you gonna know when it heats up - wait for someone on the internet to tell you?

good point man, you gots to keep at it. by the time it hits the internet or the mags, the fish could be gone!!
If you put the time in and pay attention you are bound to get some fish. I bet you any real "high liner" will tell you that "summer doldrums" are just a myth. Not that this thread was referencing summer doldrums, but those threads are a few weeks away I'm sure.

can't wait for the doldrums, thats when us N. Shore guys get some decent shots at larger fish. Bring on July and August.
