Probably the worst June/early July on the Canal in my memory

Yesterday I sat at MMA, and walked from the RR bridge to the Bourne and back. I didn't see a single cormorant. Bait would seem to be non-existent, although a few terns were picking microscopic sized bait off the surface out in the middle off the control center.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

Alot of 20# class fish around the vineyard off the boat. Southside surf fishing was terrible. And yes, the canal sucked worse than any other june I can remember.

My daytime spots have been loaded with people so I haven't fished them in about 4 weeks. Nighttime spots have been pretty good and should be getting real good.

Heaven, I'm in heaven...

Narragansett Bay is LOADED with Pogies. The big girls have moved South but if you don't mind a long boat ride and some searching around there's plenty of 25 to 35# fish to be had.
I am having the best year of my life. June was unbelievable and July has been the same with the excepting that it's a longer ride to find big fish.

BTW, had a couple of my old friends from the surf on the boat last Thursday. I asked them if boat fish still didn't count as they slid a 47" bass over the side to swim away. Just a lot of smiles!!!!

No boat, back in the suds.
