The state will "see the light" when the tribe comes up with a big enough share of the pie for Beacon Hill. Them's better odds than they'll give you in the Big Wampum Teepee when it's up and runing.

Coupe Deval and the guy who runs the Lotto are just standing there with their hands out--mark my words.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

My Opinion

Hmm! Your not going to like it.

The Town of Middleboro got the most lucrative deal an Indian tribe ever gave to a Host Town and now its up to the Town officials to do the right savings and spending to make it work.

The agreement is full of offshoot benifits to generate more $$.

The whole area will be able to generate from this, I feel the town should look for offshoot businesses to come in and generate a tax base off of them.

I feel Middleboro will be one of the richest communities around.

The one article that got voted NO Casino in Town was voted on after everyone was piling out of there to get out of the Heat only the Die Hard NO Casino people stayed to be heard on that they were heard got there say but nobody was listening LOL!!!!

The town spoke, Bruce you seen me and you know who I transported, I had 70-80 year olds that made it out to vote and made sure there vote was heard.

I give them and every other person that stood on that sweltering field the upmost respect I applaued you all.

I do not want to hear from the people that stayed home when I seen and witnessed the people who should have stayed home board my buses and make it too the meeting They knew the importance of this meeting and they made it.

Now the arm chair quaterbacks will try and voice there opinions saying it was unfair I couldnt go BULL! tell that to the elderly folks I transported I think you will be talking to Deaf ears!

The Town has spoke lets move on to the State level when the indians hit them off with there cut Legalized gambling Casinos will be popping up everywhere not just Middleboro.

In closing Mr Cahill has no say in this. He should have been Fired in my opinion for his "Blunder of it all" $20.00 scratch ticket people are not as Dumb as people think.

The Town Voted for the future maybe kids will be able to Play there sports again and Bruce maybe you will be able to buy Dungarees in Middleboro again.

I never knew until this you could not buy clothes in Middleboro you had to come to Raynham Or Taunton to shop for Clothes.

For those that want out of Middleboro I have a nice raised ranch for sale $299.900 live in Raynham.

.

ya LOL, well you know I am NOT laughing out loud!

Mike, even if the town had a real town election yesterday and the question was on a ballot, I feel the results would have been much the same. the misinformed were tricked into believing that if the town doesn't accept the agreement that they would build the casino anyway and then we would get diddly squat. The pro casino people did a good job swaying people to their side with the help of the selectmen. If it passes all the things that need to happen, I hope a casino really does help this town, but I will believe it when I see it.
I grew up in Abington when there was no dept. store in town there either so I have no problem not being able to buy a pair of pants in town, it's not a big deal at all.Been here 19 years now, I have no plans to leave.

the selectmen cowtowed to the tribe and rushed this decision thru
they could have done WAY better for the town, it's NOT that lucrative believe me. There should have been more money for schools for one thing.

let me ask again, WHAT was the rush? they wanted to strike while the iron was hot and I have the sunburn to show that.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

Everystep of the way will be a push. Casinos don't make a nickle until the doors open. So look at it from the tribes point of view; A couple of months here, a couple of months there and now the casino openning is delayed 6 months to a year or maybe more.

The vote was just the first step in a long list of hurdles the tribe must overcome.

A perfect example of that was the casino proposed in West Warwick by the Narragansetts. That dragged on for a couple of years and in the end:
no casino.

Glenn Marshall answers question number one
by Tony Lawrence, correspondent*

7/28/07 Mashpee Wamapanoag Tribal Chairman Glenn Marshall spoke to residents of Oak Point last night. He was asked the question everyone is asking.

It was the very first question, from a woman who asked:

"Months ago you said if you were not welcome, you'd go somewhere else."

Casino opponents have insisted that a "no" vote will result in the tribe no building any kind of casino in Middleboro

Marshall replied that first, the vote is about the contract. But, he does feel welcome. He said he was welcomed by the police, the fire department, the school committee and a poll that said 67% of the community wants him to come. He then said:

"We do feel welcome. That's your answer."

Right from him The town made the right decision.

No More debate Lets go fishing.

I agree with Mike on this and I'm sure everyone else does also. When all the corporations are in place that will do business with the casinos that are owned by the POLS or ah geez I mean the relatives of the POLS, yes thats better, then the casinos will fly through any permitting process.

Something I heard the other day was that the Wampanoag were the first tribe to welcome white people to this country and the 563 tribe to receive recognition from the FEDS. Why do you think that is? My guess is our reps in Washington have upheld threcognition for along time. It should have been the first tribe to be recognized.
