wire line combos we mostly sell are 330GTi, 500L because of the interchangable spools and 113HSP. The 330 is the easiest to trooling with but make sure the levelwind is well oiled.
The rodsDaiwa SG72C semeone mentioned above is a great rod. Bill fisher rod with carbides is another then custom.

Spacing the wire is a lot of work but it is the best way.we use mostly 50 lb Inconel wire.Inconel is a softer wire (dead soft)and will reduce the amount of kinks while being smoother to reel in.
Make sure that the spacers are 80 lb dacron with teflon.I have seen the 50 Lb dacron come apart to easy.
The teflon reduces the amount of water absorbed and it will have less drag in the water.
