Where is Downes and Reader Ed? Basswood is preferred.....I will be using spokeshaves and other assorted carving tools so basswood is ideal! Thanks for any info Ed!

Thanks Ed! Color me dumb but define 8/4 for me?? I know its the stock dimension but I forget the math!

full cut 2". ie; 8 1/4ers

Mac got it ,,, Oh yea .. You pay by the board foot there,, 12"x12"x1".

You get to meet the tally man and his magic stick .. Don't expect your figuring to match his .. Mac ... want to go down with Larry and watch him fight with the tally man .?
