legal way...place tape flat on whatever...lay fish on tape....o on the nose...follow the tape to the very end and you CAN squezz the tail together...the longest point on tail will tell you the true "epo legal "lenght.

Right, lay the fish on the tape.

Be encouraging, not discouraging

How do you measure a striper?
With a scale...

I concur. Lay fish on tape, longest length. EPO has set the standard, use that. That's the LEGAL measurement. The oldies used pounds tho....

Ok seeing that all I do is work and have only been fishing 4 times this year, Fish are safe

This is the correct way

Before the moratorium it was tip of nose to fork in tail along the center of the body

After the moratorium the term keeper was adopted and it is from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail squeezed together to make it longer.

Always across the body of the fish.

Surfcasting Full Throttle

Don't judge me Monkey

That is correct, but one thing to add........In Mass at least I believe the mouth has to be closed, not hanging open.
