it would be better I think for the weekend after labor day. reason being it is short notice and most people are already locked into family stuff as it is the end of summer.
it would be nice if people Actually SHOW UP!!! this is the biggest, most popular sb web site with oooodles of members and lurkers, yet the same 10 people show up.
DON'T BE SHY PEOPLE!!

as an aside: ya know I don't think of myself as an innovative person, but this idea of meeting people from the internet, especially for hobby-related stuff and actually spending time (not just exchanging money for goods) still seems kinda foreign to a lot of people. Maybe we truly are innovators and ahead of our time?
that said, although I've done the cutty trip and talked to people at shows, I'd like to take part in more S-B stuff, but can't do the weekend after labor day

I thought the same thing until I went to the cape leg and attended TFCTFN. Also met a bunch of guys at 5/0's winter footbal bash too. Meeting people from a fishing web site seemed a bit strange, but most turned out to be real good people(except NIB).
Actually most of the people I've met were known by someone I already knew and introduced to me.
Its not like meeting some stranger in a dark alley for the first time by any means. Besides, a clean cut conservative gent like myself would never do that...

If you're thinking of showing up, go for it. Its a good time.

Matt, it's a good time. I just think we might consider a meet up point, go off to fish, then having the cookout AFTER the fishing.
