OK,I'll admit it I am a flashlight junky..
I have at least a dozen of em.I bought one last night.
From this neat little one I wear on my hat for tying knots to the big blasters that IMO are still the best light made..And all the P-Tec models in between.
Anyone else have this affliction..??

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

A headlamp can be fun under the covers also.

I use a small headlamp for retying, unhooking fish... and a Surefire G2 nitrolon on a lanyard around my neck to navigate through the surf,rocks,etc... only problem with the Surefire non-LED lights are when they go dead there's no signs of the light dimming and they're $15 a pair for batteries at the nearest pharmacy.
