Acentone leaves a white residue. Rubbing alcohol also leaves a residue.

DENATURED alcohol leaves no residue.

I've never wiped down my threads before I apply the finish. I don't use color preserver. My rods aren't pretty to look at. Built purely for function and strength.

That color combo IS very pretty.

Sometimes the NCP thread I use gets a little fuzzy on the underwraps? Does any one know what causes that?? Am I burnishing it too much??
