Ahhhh....the good ole days of the backside from LeCounts to Highhead. You could get out of the truck, sniff the air and KNEW you were gonna catch at least 1 fish over 30# and be pizzed cause you only got 6. Nothin but waders, a bucket of eels, a tin and a jolt. Light travelin. Walk 3 to 10 miles a night poundin the sand......and then the seals took over.....Now, Westport. 8 miles each way instead of 100+ and no need to fish all night. If the wind is bad or the water is dirty, no wasted time. Wetsuit, korkers, tin and bucket of eels.. Hellava lot harder. But do I EVER miss the sands of the big back beaches.........someday........
