truck. And I forgot - before sand eels became scarce I'd carry a 11' bait rod too, along with a sand eel rake to boot.

what BB said. i always have 2 rods on me, my 10ft super surf and a 9ft loomis 1084 as a back up. if i'm walking a long distance then i carry both. if i can get back to my vehicle fairly quickly then i'll leave the 9ft'er in there. either way im bringing an extra rod( and spool) because i'm not going to pay 20 bucks for gas and 20 for eels and then get to a spot just to have my only rod break...
