The omnibus bill you started this thread about was under the Bush 2009 budget and from what I've read a little less than 1/2 of the earmarks were put in by Republicans.
Bush increased the size of the Federal Government more than any other Administration since I've been alive. Obama appears to be continuing this trend. Granted, the recession will greatly exacerbate spending over the next few years.
While there were some against Bush's spending, a good number of Republicans who are claiming to magically have become fiscally responsible in the past two months were eager cheerleaders for Bush's spending bender which they did their best to hide from the American people.
The out of control spending looks to by a bi-partisan issue. At least Obama is willing to state the true cost.
