I must have skimmed that article and forgot it, Frank. Thanks for the heads up. It was within arms length from me, too. I was talking with a friend who charters out of Gloucester, and he couldn't believe I didn't have a couple spoons, nevermind that I had never used one.... got me thinking. And after 15 seconds of that, I opened the thread.

I use a long 8'6" slow action rod with a penn 349 mariner loaded W/ 50# mono, once the speed is correct it pumps and fluters well. I still like the real thing better.
