I took it apart when it was new and didn't take the lever off first.It was a bad idea.You don't actually cast those big bastards do you ? I tried it and had a hard time slowing that spool at takeoff.I sold it to a guy on here and fixed my ABU record 60 HC .If I was fishing from a boat I would have held on to it.

Must be a Taiwanese or newer Abu, because my old Swedish ones look nothing like that on the inside. Cheap plastic pinion yoke

The older Swedish ones have no springs in the anti-reverse--just that little friction collar seen at the lower left (in older Abus it sits on a peg on the lower left as seen head on).

Yes, my 7000CLs are metal inside, different config (and different springs).

Anyone having troubles with the newer ones?

Wonder for those with both vintages if there is a noticeable differecen?

ive never really had springs fly out at me when i serviced my 7500... are they using the same components more or less on the newer abu's?
