Great story! I still remember similar experiences with my Dad - some of my best memories growing up

great story

before the grass gets too tall

ya gotta teach him how to pull night crawlers at night

with a little red flash light ... (and some stealth crawling)

go to walmart and buy some of their worm bedding

first though...pre soak it and fill up an old cooler with it

That young lad has a great future ahead of him, Rick - what a great story, something you'll both always remember!

That's what it's all about, too...

Good show by the angler, too bad the old gaffer with him fumbled, though...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Too funny, and too true. He's seen me catch some pretty good stripers so he doesn't really put into perspective what a good bass this was. But the time he can relate, it will probably be a 10#er.

We finished the night off with a few pizza's, watched madagascar 2 and fell asleep watching Hunt For Big Fish. One of the best days of my life.

Sounds perfect too me. Thanks for sharing this cool day with us. I'm planning to do that tomorrow with my boy.

Cappa, have a great time with your boy. I will be in Marshfield for Easter with my guy. Any good freshwater spots in the area?
