Relax, its not even May yet. Unless you have a bent rod tell him its dead and not worth the time to fish it, don't just ignore him, its just inconsiderate. I hate it when fishermen are rude to each other, you don't have to be the nicest guy in the world out there, but you don't have to be a complete douche either.

You don't know him... he might have been out all night... I don't get it.

Heck, you can lie to him and still be friendly.
