There is a move afoot to try and save the system. If you want to keep it it would be a good idea to write your congresscritter.

Its been recommended by a Defense analysis study group as a cheap back-up to the GPS system. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the study. Many european countries are planning on going to e-loraq as a back-up to the GPS system. All it would take if for one terrorist to use the GPS system or even threaten to do so and the Government would probably shut it down for non-military users.
