OJ, I have used a true mini likethe one you have, if you want to do real small stuff you have the option. I have the G8690 which has about 8" more between centers and 1/3 hp TEFC. It can handle the bigger stuff but yiou can also get the small jobs done without much trouble. I agree with your point regarding the difference in construction.
