Better today. Pogies were scattered but got them by 0530. Four mid 20# fish before work.

The surf fishing in NH has been just dismal since about the first week in June. I thought last year was bad but this has been much worse. 8-night, about 45 hours of fishing resulted in about a dozen fish. One big one and all the rest were in the 20" range. Usually this period of time is really good up here. Not sure what is up but this is the fifth year of declining fishing with this year being by far the worse. The only thing I've been getting plenty of is eels. Everytime I pull the trap there is half a dozen good ones.

The boat guys seem to be getting some livelining macks but even their numbers seem to be down.

Ross:
Pogy boats wiped us out 2 weeks ago. Slow since then although I did find 2 high teen (pounds) Sat morning off Beavertail. Very slow overall.

No boat, back in the suds.

I took a new PB smooth dogfish last night.

My spiny dogfish record still stands though.

Sorry, no pics.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind
