Head north regularly to hike or ski, and make a point of visiting the Tavern at the Woodstock Inn in No. Woodstock, NH. Good food and a micro-brewery. Try the Pig's Ear Brown Ale. Some local stores carry Woodstock brews.

In my opinion, Guinness isn't even the best beer brewed by the Guinness brewery. I'd take a Smithwick's first, then a Guinness.

I'll be having a few beers tonight, but unfortunately the selection will be pretty poor where I'm going.

I like these both since there are times when I'm in the mood for a "meal in a glass" or a beer.

(I learned how to order Smithwick's like a local. It's pronounced Smithicks, not Smithwicks. If you pronounce it with the "w", they know you a re a yank'.

Guinness does go very well with fish 'n chips. (kind of like beer and pizza)
