I use a old dishtowel, tuck it right into my wading belt, dropped it one night getting back into the car , went back the next day the thing was ripped to pieces, some varmint must have smelled the fish.

First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
After years of wading out through 200 yards of slippery rocks and rock weed, which involved many falls. I finally got a wading stick. Can get out there twice as fast with almost no falls. Comes in handy for many different things. I'm just using one of my old bamboo ski poles fitted with a metal point on the end. Clip it to my belt when not using.

Me too. The ski pole is a great idea. I just used a hardwood mop handle and put a EVA rod grip on it. Makes a world of difference.
