Not so friendly Meet and Greet Forum
Just poking around and noticed you're lucky if you get 5 replies as a newcomer. Either we should be a little more friendly and try to post in their more often or we might want to consider dropping the forum.

yeah maybe instead of a separate forum we just encourage newcomers to post in the main forum introducing themselves or would that get annoyiing?

Interesting, people do get welcomed when they sign in, some more so than others, but we should do something to direct them to the main board. How do we encourage them to post on the main board (sometimes we do)? Do we have them go right to the main board for the welcome?
Good question - thanks!

John,
When you send out that membership kit (with the S-B.com sticker) to new members just include instruction to the Main board and let them flounder like the rest of us. If they are lucky they won't end up as their first experience in the "Grumpy Old Pharts Board" chat room.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Larry - I was just going to nominate you.
This has been a background problem for awhile. I am also guilty for not visiting the newcomers forum. I think I will drop in more often.

Luds thanks for posting. I went in to the M&G and found an old friend I haven't talked to or seen in years. I never go there but I'll try to make it a habit.

Thought about it a little and I'll do it. I will advise bigfish and afterhours to stay out of the forum though. If the keys give me the ability to edit their posts into invites to newcomers for bromantic gettaways to cuttyhunk I might abuse that priveledge.
I was also thinking of doing a contest to try and promote the activity in here. Is there any reporting cabability for you to see who has the most posts in this forum over a certain time period. I was thinking of rewarding the winner with some pluggage or something like that.
