i just had some luck with goo gone and a puddy knife.

ran the knife over it dry... got as much as i could. then added goo gone waited then ran the knife again... lightly sanded and looks new.

don't know if thats the right way but it worked.

With the high temperature the other day, and my boat tilted a bit forward on stands, i can say gasoline with 10% ethanol and stabil overflowing the fill/vent sure made the silicon sealant on the rubrail come off all by itself.
