I am on my third pair of free LL Beans. LOVE them! I went with stocking foots tho. I love the free feeling of not wearing boots at all in the sand and the sure fit of the workboot/sneaker support of the wading boots.

More questions

When you wear stocking foot waders on a sandy beach dont you have a problem with sand getting in the shoes which is uncomfortable and can damage the waders. Secondly the bean boot foot waders do not have a traditional sole like felt on the bottom of the boots. It looks like a new type of sole. How good is its traction on sandy beaches and rocky beaches. Thanks for the help Charlie

When I do wear my wader boots in the sand I will get SOME sand in them but not much. My beans have a clip that secures the bottom of the wader to the boot. I'd say most of the sand that gets in is from the wash. I don't have a problem. My wader boots are felt bottomed but they sell the studs that can be easily attached. Most of my wear and tear is in the knees, but like I said I am on my 3rd free pair. Choosing waders is a personal choice and it took me a few years before I settled on these and I love them. One thing about them is that they do change models and they do upgrade. The pair I have now is better than the ones I started with and they were only $10 more. So in other words I paid $10 for my newest waders.

Bean all the way. The Wareham outlet rocks. I started out with a $180 pair and ended up with their most expensive Helix style plus close to $100 back. No questions on the returns at all. Buy one pair and have waders for life... They deal Simms too with the same no question easy return policy.
