$$$

I wonder what the cost per license (process, admin, mail fees ect...) actually cost the state ... I envision the state getting $10 and spending $20 on this card.

hefty fee's below for the out of state charter guys.

# Establishes annual permit fees and other service charges:

1. $10 resident and non-resident permit fee;
2. $125 resident chart vessel permit and $625 non-resident charter permit fees; and
3. $175 resident head boat permit fees and $855 non-resident head boat permit fees.

It's funny though guys have no problem spending 20 a piece for a plug and think nothing of buying 2-5 at a wack, or spending 600- 1000 on a reel but they cry about a 10 license

I say that all recreational sports that use a public resource in one way or another should have a fee, that includes muffy and biff want to ride the public trails in the blue hills or elsewhere on the 5000 dollar horses...

Good. It's about time this state started taking actions to help local businesses.

I can see your point that it helps local business by charging out of state guys more but......................these local business now have another fee to pay so it doesn't help them from that perspective at all.

I hope all this money actually goes to a good cause that will help in the long run instead of more waste.

LOL...RI is the most corrupt state in the nation. The money will be stolen, laundered, abused, and probably used for a bribe. I never understood the logic where they punish those that create jobs.

I have lived in 7 states and RI probably has the best geographic potential out of any of them yet the officials are a laughing stock outside the state. It is pathetic.

The reality is few will even buy the lic. They have no enforcement. How many times were you stopped and asked to show your lic this year?

Twice!! Saw the "Green Police" a lot more than that. Last time I went it was just me and them watching.

The Green Police aren't asking for the Registry card because it's a Federal regulation, and there's no penalty in the law for not having one, it seems. I was told by an EPO in April that any enforcement would be "informational-only". There's also no revenue in enforcing it this year, since there was no fee to get one, and there's no fine for not having one.

Next year, I'm betting that there will be enforcement
