I think you got that backwards. MA is raping the out of state charters at $625 of an out of state fee.

Nothing wrong in my book with trying to protect local small businessmen. Guys who live in RI and trailer their boats here don't pay Mass excise taxes, and if they hit a RI gas station to fill their tanks, they don't pay a Mass fuel tax.
Chartering is a tough way to earn a living, and there's enough local competition to start with.

Aside from the ignorance of that statement, it was not what I was writing about. Sandman was complaining that RI raised fees when the thread and article is about MA.
Small minded parochialism and protectionism does not benefit anyone in the long run.

I was never in favour of this permit. It will open a pandora's box........next up you will have to get that permit endorsed for various species you want to fish for.....at xtra $$$$$...trust me once you let them put there hands in your pockets, your screwed........
