Being basically a cheap (*&&( I took RIRockhound's advice when I bought my first CC and bought 2 Penn Slammers 5' 6". I put Abu Big Game reels on them and use them for livelining Pogies. $50 each for the Rods at Bennys in RI. Still using them after 4 years and I have caught hundereds of fish up to 40#. Cannot be beat for the price.
you mean, 6'6" right? mach-1 blackfish rod for us too...
they don't make them like that anymore, they are graphite now.
still slow action, but not the same...
