Ah haah! so the watch still works , its your attachment mechanisms that are failing. I also used to experience band/pin type failures.Even the molded plastic type bands that are integral to the watch used to fail on me regularly. I switched to a twistoflex (spiedel) band instead of the tighter belt loop type. I also tend to get a new band and or pins with each new watch. I would say a typical belt buckle type band only lasted 6 months to a year for me. I think overall the answere was that with the buckle type I wore it too tight. With the flexible ones , I adjust it so it just barely moves at all when I shake my wrist . You get used to the slightly loose feel in no time.

Actually , pocket watches are nice too.
