Great dogs, but plan on a big grooming bill.
Labs....just hose them off once in a while.

Goldens are worse.
I had great luck with changing my dogs diet. Forget the vet., ask the people at the feed and grain store.Really improved my old labs coat.

curly coated retriever is a good breed. I have to say Hab had some good stock for field trials.Lots of sensible choices offered but you still haven't said if you are interested in a dog for anything other than a pet. Will this dog have a job on the course? If you get a dog with a lot of drive,it may not necessarily make the best pet for the home.Something to think about, but after owning a dingo for as long as you have this might seem calm. I had a lab for 13 years and still miss him although he has been gone for 6 years.FWIW,Cole is smarter and more obedient than any retriever I have met to date. Also doesn't shed a dog per week.Hard to come by but worthy of consideration.

Here he is. Got him from a breeder up in New Hampshire. "Jack" is an 8 week old american lab. Parents are both AKC and field champs. What really made my day was when my son told me it was the best day of his life...man was he thrilled to get this dog...it hasn't left his side yet.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

I vac every three days after my Golden, but I am used to it. It is my third. If I didn't get this one I probably would have found a lab. I think both breeds are precious.
