Don't think fish (rather the lack of fish) being off the Race is the main issue that people have. Full closures early in the season then rolling closures throughout the rest of the season, along with fighting through seals is the bigger issue.

Gotta admit though you may still stick a few fish now and then,
It's nothing like it used to be near shore.
If only the bass we V jig a few miles out going for tuna would ever return . . . . .

May fortune favor the foolish....

I still love that place and will get a sticker every year until I can't. The wifey likes it, that makes things a bit easier for me. If you're willing to walk a bit or have a kayak/boat to get by the seals, you can still have epic days. I remember when I had to smuggle pizza in over the dunes from the airport one year when I was trying to get my sticker. That's how crowded it used to be. I still was a bait dunker back then. The coffin was always full. Things have changed.

seals + plovers =

When I was a young pup, for lunch I would put on the mask and fins, go in at hatches and spear a few beautiful fluke. Be eating them an hour later . . . .

it still is a great place, . . . . if only one thing would change.

May fortune favor the foolish....
