I never curse fish (well...maybe dogfish) ...when the blues were scarce a lot of guys were singing the blues. They are a great sport fish. They taste great when very fresh and prepared properly and are outstanding in a smoker. They make a great shark and tuna bait, and when then bass ain't biting...at least there is something pulling on the other end. I will agree though if you leave them in a hot cooler all day on no ice you will they don't taste quite as good and they don't freeze as well as other fish. Also when they are feeding its not the time to drift eels looking for a bass.

Besides, think your a good fisherman?....drop down to 2# or 4# test and hook in to 10-12# blue on a noodle rod you will change your mind about the blues.
