Spinning Reel Maintenance?

1. oil your roller bearing.
2. whale on it.
3. when it makes funny noises throw it away and buy another.

I have 2 Penn 6500 that we use for chunking and these reels get sevviced once a year whether they need it or not!!!!!!!!!!

So far no problems and they are both over 10 yrs. old,

same here,but i did just buy the battle 6000,also still using an olympic 540 i got when i was about 9 or 10 yrs old still brings them in no issues

That's pretty much it, as long as it ain't getting wet. Maybe take the drag washers out every month or so, clean them, light Cal's grease, and replace.

It'll start making funny noises long before the handle stops turning, I think.
