Don't think the data backs up your claim at all. Wishful thinking.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

What data doesn't doesn't back up what claim? The formulas are a joke plain and simple and I'm sure others will agree.

Formulas are a joke. Except for the catch and release only guys who catch tons of 40#s every year but never scale them. I have weighed many low to mid 30# fish that have broke 40#s on the formulas.

The part about hanging by boga or scale does less damage than measuring with a tape. It is pretty clear that you cannot hang a big fish by the jaw without damage. If weight is that important, use a carp sling that supports the fish.

Zimmy it is common sense it can not be good for big fish, I bet driving hooks through their jaws and horsing them in against current isn't that great either. I bet laying a fish in the sand and having it flip around all over the place covered in sand, or trying to lay it on a rock in the surf while it gets smashed to hell isn't any better. I also know that if I am out on the rocks and I want to weigh fish I am certainly not going to sit there and try to measure a fish or mess around with a sling while I get pounded by waves and put myself in danger, call me selfish but if I was that concerned about killing fish I would be playing golf and not fishing. To each his own, .

Might as well keep them, then.
