It will only be a matter of time before they work their way up the coast, and then the fun will really begin.....

Imagine being followed by one of those monsters in your kayak?
Or having to compete with the seals AND the juvenile whites for your stripers?

They should do as extensive a study of Atlantic whites as they do the Pacific whites to see where they migrate to and from.

Of course the only problem with any good fish research is that there will be people (and countries) that will exploit the fish when they know where they can be located.

Remember that there are plenty of countries that fish off our shores that look at great whites as a big "one-time" payday.

They have speculated that the average lifespan of a great white is around 25-30 years (in the wild). The studies done off the CA coast have been following at least one male that is at least that old, since they've been tracking him since 1985!

If you want to learn a bit more than the typical "air-jaws" factiods about these creatures and their habits, check out "The Great White Highway" on Discovery this week. They tracked tagged sharks from CA to HI and back and forth and in between!
