Here's what you and Spence cannot grasp...I don't assume my experience is reflective of everyone else. If I'm doing well, but record numbers of people are struggling, then I say 'things stink'. Maybe you are so self-centered that you view the world through the lens of how it only affects you, but I don't.

Maybe you and Spence are only concerned with how you are personally doing. Some of us care about the welfare of everyone.
