Lost it 4 days after Irene; none out here this time in Metro West. Feel for the Cape folks (like my 90 year old Aunt) who lost theirs.

Still out here. Thank god the new house has gas inserts as I had to bail from the apartment when it hit 44 inside. In general Wareham is a total mess no power anywhere trees and branches down all over.

Just got it back here in Falmouth at the house, 10-12 inches of wet slop, blowing in at 80 makes for a lotta broken limbs and wires down here, still 68 % of town is dark. Mashpee is 91% out.

most of Aquidneck Island has no power, we're fortunate to be in the small portion that has power but a limb took the lines right off my house and they are laying across the yard...keeping my fingers crossed that we'll continue to have power, had to drive to pick up my mom the next town over late this afternoon and it was treacherous on the main roads and barely negotiated the neighborhood roads to get her out of there and get home...the one gas station that I saw open had a line of cars way down East Main Road...saw very little plowing happening...but I did see some utility trucks..I know that Bristol is out but my dad has a generator fortunately....my wife finally reached her mom via text in Plymouth and she responded briefly saying she had no power....feel really bad for the folks without tonight...

Lost it 8pm last night in EP and got it back at 7pm. Less than 24hrs and the house got to 48 inside. Very thankful to have it back tonight. This was my first time not having heat in the winter and what a reality check! They need to think of a more intimidating name than Nemo for the next storm..

Last night looked very eerie .. Newport bridge's lights were only working on the east side. The west side of the bridge was totally black.

Power went out around 11:00 Friday night and came back on at 6:00 AM. The only thing I hate is my kids being cold. They did fine and slept through the night but I just remember running out of oil when I was a kid and freezing and my dad worked for an oil company - never really understood that. Really bad feeling being cold, makes you feel for people that can't afford heat or are homeless, makes you really appreciate what you have. A women that loves me (for some unknown reason). healthy family and friends, a roof over my head - with HEAT and food in my belly, the rest is all bull#^&#^&#^&#^&.

On a lighter note later in the day yesterday the lights went out again around 2:00. We waited a little while then put a call into the light company. Just after my wife told the women the lights went out they came back on. We told her what amazing service, that she must have flicked a switch, we all had a good laugh. All kidding aside Hingham light is really good, been here 14 years in a coastal community and don't ever remember being without power for too long, I am currently knocking on my head which happens to made out of wood.

Be safe out there!!!

Still no power, it sucks but kind of funny seeing the 18 year old girl and 15 year old boy going nuts without the electronics.

Just got it back since friday night. If there's one thing I learned from a storm like this:

Lego sets from the 80's have absolutely terrible instructions

something clever and related to fishing

Just got it back an hour ago. Wife is out of town and the kids all found friends who had power so it was just me here stoking the fireplaces. Too much stoking as at 2 30 this morning I had a chimney fire that fortunately extinguished itself. 49 degrees this morning but warmer than the 3 it was out at the woodshed.!!!

This is about the fourth time in the last two years. its getting old. I think it's time to buy a generator. What's a decent one go for?

We came back online last night. Kept the kids happy and wifi going with a small power inverter. Of the 13 years I've been here all the power outages have been in the past 2 years.

Right now there are more utility trucks in the vaciity moving around than electrons! Truck sitting across the street for 3hrs, maybe had the boom raised and working for a total of 20min.
