Glad no one was hurt, but that was an accident just waiting to happen.

It seems like an epidemic across the state, if not the region.
People are either reluctant to, or are deterred from removing old trees from theirs and adjacent properties. Then something like this happens and the insurance gurus come out of the woodwork.

Where I live we see way too many trees that need to be trimmed or removed that are allowed to stand year after year.
A tree from a house across our street fell last year and totaled my brother's car. That tree had half the trunk rotted out, and should have been removed a long time ago.

We had 2 trees removed from our front yard, mainly because of roots growing into our sewer pipes. After last years storms, I can safely say that removing the bigger tree was a VERY wise choice.

Hopefully the damage is purely cosmetic and there is no structural repairs that are needed.

One added plus is that you will have a lot of seasoned firewood if you need it.

I am a legend in my own mind!
