While on the Vinyard, a friend of mine had some flys he tied in black /yellow as a bait fish patten on a 1/0 hook, they worked great he caught stripers one after an outher,YES,I was next to him while he ws catching all thoes fish,I have a patten Iuse all the time there an it works all the time also BUT, to have another one do the same was even better,(nothing like a back-up fly) WELL I took his color patten an made my MATHERS VINYARD SQUID FLY.
it's on a 2/0 long shank EXTRA LONG BLACK feathers,(splayed around the hook) gold flash,
yellow chennile, just enough to put an eye on. then EXTRA LONG bunny, thats it.

P.S.I also recommend tying them in 1's an 1/0 to 4/0 which I have already done.
