My Lathe is on the way, Now What?

I couldn't resist. I was going to take it slow but, . . . oh well.

I have no idea what I'm getting into here. Could someone point me in the right direction. What kind of wood should I start with?

I need supplies! I don't know what to start with or where I can get them.

Steps? I've done some research with the search utility, but I'm still confused. Basic steps for a beginner. I'll take a pass . . .

2. Turn wood
3. Seal wood
4. prime
5. paint
6. finish
????????

Please HELP! I need some new needles ASAP!
