energy drinks
I'll use Red bull as an example-
who drinks them before a night out in the suds??
After a long day at work, I drank one around dinner time thinking i was going to fish tonight , but something came up and i am home and I am amped.. If i didn't drink it, i would probably be asleep right now..
my thoughts on these drinks is that they do give me energy while I am fishing, but they really help me in the mornings after a late night fishing. I usually wake up with out what I call " the fishing hang over"
so who drinks em and why?? Are they worth it?

Always have at least one. Definetly keep me going through the night after working all day on my feet. I like the sobe and some other jeff gordon 24 citrus ones. Hess station has them for 2 for $2.50 some tap water in a bottle, a multi vitamin and some caffeine pills ( $5 for a hundred) works just as good though

I'm with chef,
Sobe Adrenaline sugar free, used to buy it by the case!
Drink one on the way into work every day, then one about 6 pm...Definately drink them if I'm gonna be up for the nite.

Nebe,
I drink them only when the bite is good and I want to stay out longer. I never start the night out with one unless I know I'll be fishing for a long while. They're like legal speed. I still like them better than dropping no-doze tablets on Block in the 80s.

Personally, I like redbull anyway, but I drink one in the middle of a trip when I feel myself fading (having a baby has killed my stamina unless I prepare for it)...
I will give those XS drinks notaro mentioned a shot...
but if you want something REALLY evil.... though not an energy drink.. Try some of these

I am an AMP guy. Use it before my hockey games and before a late night tide. Stuff really works for me.

I love them, ask parker 23!
My favorite is the Target brand, sugar free, grapefuit flavor. Awesome. I take them for late nights and early mornings. Usually i dont want to waste time and make coffee early in the morning so I have one before heading out.

I've made the same mistake. Usually I'll fish and then come home and then I'll have trouble getting to sleep; if there's a women next to me then I'll try and wake her--sometimes I find that lovemaking will help settle my nerves and put me to sleep.

thats some damned good energy drink.
i drink them when i can. as i have been getting exhausted while fishing. but if the fish are biting i don't need em. it's those long nights of "i'm not leaving till i hook one" that i need em. ofcourse we all know that never happens. every fish ya hook = 1/2 to an hour more of fishing.

Did the monster green drinks for awhile, always felt dehydrated the next day and went like a race horse.
Did the ones tdf mentioned the orange cans those are pretty good mellow sugar/ caf. I try not to take them at all and make up for it in the am with a few cups of coffee, if I'm into fish I dont need caffeine to keep me awake, also like goose said come home, shower, get a lil hibbidy dibbity goin and Im out like a light zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I was sent a few packs of "Energy Drink" by a member last month that I'm determined to try next week. You add these packs to bottled water. It looks interesting as it is much more natural based than the typical canned energy drinks.
I'll let you know my findings

large starbucks ice coffee (black) on the ride up
Sugar free redbull and a snack, trailmix or something) at around 1 am
Sugar free redbull for the ride home (1 hr ride)
crack a beer when I get home (usually only finish about 3/4 of it)
wake up, hydrate, do it again

A.C.T. (Advanced Cell Therapy)
I have been promoting/marketing this energy drink for a few months now. I drink it every day and love it. Excellent "mental focus" and no bad-for-you ingredients. Comes in 17g pouches and just out in April 07, 12oz cans. Gonna be a household name in 3 years. Any sales gurus or marketers out there who want in on a great ground floor opportunity- contact me.
This is the "Healthy Alternative" to Red Bull, Monster and all that other sugary crap. There is nothing worse than an energy drink hangover.
A.C.T. is all natural- No caffeine-Only 4g of sugar
No Crash
No Jitters
Check it out-
