704z questions...

Always afraid of bail snapping over and losing a 20.00 custom plug...

removed bail...

the spool seems to spin quite a bit with the cast...has anyone had the line wrap around the roller as it spins around and cause a snap off... I do not seem to get the distance I should because I am worried about the above stated problems...
What to do????? many folks continue to state that the 704/706 series are work horses... looking for all tips that will help!!!

Thanks!!!

a fifty before I go!!!!!!

The spool shouldn't spin at all during the cast. Maybe there's a problem with the reel or drag washers? Did you install a bailess kit?

Casting distance is determine by many things. Your rod, diameter of your line, weight of lure, type of line...

If you simply cut the bail off the rotor is now unbalanced.Like Hesh said get the bailess kit,it will prevent that.

You want to set it up so the handle points down when the spool is all the way out. Add a washer under the handle if you need to.
