Penn 711 acting up

I pulled my 711 greeny apart.Cleaned all old grease and reinstalled all stuff with superlube.I pulled the drag apart and the washers were greased so I cleaned them and reinstalled dry. They were black rubbery looking washers. When I got out this morning to use it the weight of the lure felt really heavy on the reel.Like the line was tangled around the end of the rod.It wasn't tangled. Was really hard to real in with any type of resistance. My question to the pro's here is what can be the cause of this.I have it mounted on an Arra 1084 and it felt like I was reeling in tons of seaweed when it was just a smaller sized eel.Even a 1.5oz popper felt like there was too much resistance. My only guess would be the drag washers need to be greased for some reason.I don't know.I do know I walked back to my truck and had to grab my backup rod and reel to keep fishing because I lost two nice fish.It felt like the reel couldn't seem to reel enough when the fish got on then the fish shook off both times. Then didn't have any more action after returning. Is it possible the nut under the spool could be to tight and that would cause extra drag ? Any help would be appreciated.Wish I could afford the VS150 but I bought a new 250 a little while ago.
